1. Summary
- Hardware tests run entirely in your browser. Microphone audio, camera video, photos and key presses are never sent to us or stored.
- We do not offer accounts and do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Third-party services (Google AdSense, Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, Coupang Partners) may collect technical data as described below.
2. Data processed on your device only
When you grant permission, the browser gives our page access to your microphone or camera. The signal is analysed in memory to show levels, resolution or frame rate. Optional recordings and photos are created in your browser memory and saved only if you choose to download them. Closing the page removes them.
Device information shown in the checkup (operating system, browser, CPU threads, approximate memory, graphics name, screen size) is read from standard browser APIs and is not transmitted.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com. For users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform asks for your choice before personalised ads are shown. Learn more at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
4. Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views without cookies. Google Analytics 4 may be used to understand which tests are used and whether they complete; we send only anonymous events such as “mic test completed: pass”. We never send device names, recordings or typed keys. Where consent is required, analytics storage stays off until you agree.
5. Affiliate links (Korean pages)
Korean-language pages may show Coupang Partners links labelled as advertising. If you click one, Coupang may set cookies to attribute a purchase, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. English pages do not show these links.
6. Hosting and logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not run our own application server or database.
Two tools call a small function on our Cloudflare Worker: “What is my IP” returns your IP address and approximate location only to you, and “Server time” fetches only the response headers (Date, Server) of the address you enter. We do not store or log these requests or your IP address.
7. Your choices
- You can deny or revoke microphone and camera permission at any time in your browser’s site settings.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Theme preference (light/dark) is stored in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
