About this tool
Why the server clock matters
Ticket sales, limited drops and course registration open at an exact second — on the seller’s server clock, not yours. Your computer or phone can easily be half a second or more off, so pressing the button when your own clock says 8:00:00 can be too early or too late.
This page reads the website’s own clock and shows it next to yours, so you can see exactly how far apart they are.
How the measurement works
- Every web server sends a Date header with its current time, but only to the whole second.
- Our Worker asks the site for its headers only (a HEAD request, never the page itself) and returns the Date header to your browser.
- Your browser repeats this a few times, timed so that the server’s second ticks over during a request. Combining when each request left and came back narrows the true offset down to roughly one round trip — usually within ±100 ms.
- After that the clock ticks locally on your device; there is no constant polling.
