Troubleshooting guide

What this touchscreen test checks
- Dead zones: every cell you drag over turns green. A cell that stays empty while your finger clearly passes over it is a spot the screen can’t feel.
- Edges and corners: press Fullscreen first — cracked glass and lifted screen protectors usually fail at the edges.
- Multi-touch: the counter shows how many fingers the screen sees right now and the most it has seen at once. Phones and tablets usually handle 5–10.
Touch not working in some spots? Try these in order
- Remove the screen protector and case. Bubbles, a thick tempered-glass layer or a case lip pressing on the edge cause most “dead” edges.
- Clean and dry the screen and your hands. Water, grease and some gloves confuse the sensor.
- Restart the device — a stuck touch driver is a common cause of a screen that ignores touches or “ghost touches” by itself.
- Charge with the original charger. Cheap chargers can add electrical noise that makes touches jump or miss.
- Install system updates. On Windows touch laptops, also check Device Manager → Human Interface Devices → “HID-compliant touch screen” is enabled.
- Test again in Safe Mode (Android) or after a reset of settings. If the same spot stays dead everywhere, the digitizer (touch layer) is damaged and needs repair.
